• Hi,

I have downloaded wordpress and placed all of my theme files on my C:/

My wordpress site is on an independent web server.

Can anyone show me how to preview changes to my theme as I’m working on it? What would I have to do from my wordpress admin panel to make this happen?

    OR

Should I install my theme first? (how can I install if the software only request zip files?)

Thanks. I need a visual guide to see if header.php, and other template files are appearing.

This is not a theme from the WordPress website.

I am creating my own theme from scratch, on my desktop. I want to upload it to my server.

The theme is not finished yet, but I want to see what I’ve done so far.

Start reading at the step just after “get the theme from www.ads-software.com” in the link MacmanX gave you and upload your theme using which ever method works for you (Dashboard / cPannel / FTP)

You are just creating a directory in your themes folder and putting your theme files in it.

    Trust MacManX

In the long run it’s probably easier to just install MAMP or WAMP on the computer you’re currently using, and preview that way.
