Database and Installation not working together

  • I mistakenly changed the capabilities.php file and now my wordpress website doesn’t work and tells me when I installed a fresh version of 2.9.2 wp using same database and theme that ‘wordpress has been previously installed please remove the database tables’ I want the same database and to work with the information on it…. any suggestions.

    Download WordPress again and delete then replace your copy of the /wp-includes/capabilities.php file with a fresh copy from the download.

    using the theme: Atahualpa 3.4.4 by BytesForAll which is the real reason to want all together, took hours to customize it the way I wanted it.

    Ok, just replace the core file that you mistakenly edited and let’s see what happens.
