Can’t activate this plugin

I’ve tried to install this plugin for the same reasons as everyone else. WordPress says “plugin activated” but it is not. When I put my site into Troubleshooting Mode, the “activate” button disappears for this plugin as well.

Unfortunately I’ll have to use the other “Classic Widgets” plugin that is not as popular as this one. That one seems to work fine.
