Find related posts by Custom field Value

How are you thinking of using the custom field value – i.e. if two fields have the same value they are related?

What plugin are you using for the custom fields and can you give me names and values of these fields?

Exactly, if the defined custom field of two or more posts have the same value, they are related.

I don’t use a plugin for the custom fields, they are the standard custom fields that wordpress already provides.

The custom field name is “IMDbID”.
The value of the custom field would be the IMDB ID of the movie the post refers to (e.g. “tt4154796” or “tt4154756” or “tt2395427” or …).

For example, if three posts have IMDbID = tt4154796, they will be displayed at these Posts.

You won’t be able to do this out of the box. But you would need to write a function to filter crp_query_args.

The function will need to add a meta_query arg in line with WP_Query meta query.

Note that this will limit posts further to only those within the meta_query.
