@fidoboy my sincere apologies for not getting back to you sooner! You are correct about this as that’s not considered the homepage. Often query strings are used for a reason like taking a specific action that is unrelated to the homepage. There are ignored query strings such as “utm_source” as this is a thing from Google Analytics. There’s something that could be done about it and that would be to add a filter where you could set the query strings that you want to add to a list that will make Asset CleanUp Pro treat the URI like a homepage if those query strings are there (in your example it’s “query”).
It would require some copy and pasting of PHP code, but it would do the job. An alternative would be to implement a feature that will allow you to add those query strings from the Dashboard, making things even easier. I can’t guarantee this will be added in the next release as there are things that have more priority due to higher demand.
