So we have been using AddToAny for years. Never really had issues with it. Yesterday, I noticed that the buttons are not showing on many of our pages. Now it is just blank where there used to be social share buttons. Any ideas what could be causing this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I thought it was just me. I tried VPN, tried clearing NGINX cache, browser cache, downgraded to the previous version. Nothing works. Funny thing is they show up on some pages but it’s just completely blank on 99% of our pages. I wonder if there is a temporary issue that the developers are working on? We have never had issues with this plugin.

Right now the buttons are displaying on your site, which you can verify with something like browserling.com.

It’s possible your issue was related to a temporary issue in AddToAny core as mentioned in this topic. Since an update is rolling out, try clearing your browser cache again to pull in the update immediately.

If the buttons show in browserling.com but not in your own browser, the cause is probably a browser extension as suggested in the troubleshooting FAQ.

    Thank you! it works now

It seems to be working but not if I have an ad-blocker installed. Since most of my visitors use an ad-blocker, is there any way to get around this? We have never had any issues with AddtoAny, so I knew it was just temporary.

Same to me only with Refresh shows up again. Maybe something with last update. No changes to browsers in desktop and mobile too. Waiting for your update. Thanks a lot

Which ad blocker are you using?

An ad blocker shouldn’t be blocking AddToAny by default, but some ad blockers can optionally block “social” buttons if you turned that kind of option on.

A workaround is to serve AddToAny locally while receiving automated updates to AddToAny core. You can enable the “Cache AddToAny locally with daily cache updates” plugin option in Settings > AddToAny > Advanced Options.

AdBlock from getadblock.com now completely blocks these social media buttons for some reason but I did not touch any of its setting. I think I will have to start serving it locally as the only way I see the buttons now is in incognito mode when the adblocker doesn’t work.

Do you think they have had a change in policy? I am not sure why they have started blocking the buttons now. We have never ever had this issue even when using multiple ad blockers at the same time in the past.

The AdBlock extension doesn’t block social buttons by default. On a new install, all “Other Filter Lists” are disabled in AdBlock settings > Filter lists. Only the “Ad Blocking Filter Lists” are enabled by default. If you’re suddenly and unexpectedly subscribed to a new list, definitely consider reporting that as a bug to them!

That’s what I will do. I will report it to them. We didn’t change anything. All of a sudden buttons stopped showing. The only reason we have ad blocker is to avoid clicking on our own ads. ?? Thanks for all the help!

Same problem: buttons are no more showing since 5 days or so, but mysteriously appear again when one is logged as WP admin; cache cleared; browserling.com comes with no buttons display with Chrome and Firefox, but it’s OK with IE.

@emicame Please post a new topic, and FYI the buttons are actually showing on the site in your profile right now, so you’ll want to troubleshoot your Chrome/Firefox browsers to find the root cause.
