Allow copy of others’ code with no edit capability – use “Duplicate Page”?

We need to Deny author-trainees edit capability for others post/pages – yet they need to see and copy others code to learn how to do things. ‘Read’ capability does not allow seeing the code and ‘inspector’ shows interpreted code, not necessarily original (is there another way?). The “Duplicate Page” WP plugin would be a great solution. It copies the code to a new post/page where they can experiment with no harm. But it seems I have to give edit capability for Duplicate Page to function? I would rather they pick and choose what post/pages to duplicate according to their need without them having to ask me to do it for them. Please I hope someone knows how to let newbies learn from others’ code without potential edit damage? Thank you!
