    Hi,

when someone upload a file in a form it’s stored in the upload folder of WP. But this folder is accessible by anyone who tape the right URL.
Is there a way to put the uploaded file in a email attachement rather than in the Upload folder of WP?
Because the uploaded files should be confidential.

Thanks in advance for the answers and sorry for my English…

  • Hi @tchao57

Try using a plugin or other solution outlined here to hide these folder from the public, your webhost may be able to assist with the .htaccess method.

    Hope this helped!

    Hi aakash8,

thanks for your answer. I already tried to hide those folders but the problem is when someone send a form with an uploaded file it stores this file in the uploaded file of WP and if I hide this folder nobody can view the attachement.
The best way would be to have the attachement in the mail client, like Outllok or Thunderbird.

    Hello @tchao57,

?Thank you for reaching out to support! You can go into the notification and remove the “All Fields” option in the notification and add the fields to the notification that are not the attachment. Then you can block the /uploads folder with htaccess.

You can also allow the uploads folder for logged in users so the administrators can see the file uploads. That way the administrator email that goes out with the link would still work.

I do realize this is a workaround and it would make more since that it goes out in the email as an attachment. I’m going to get that added as a feature request and get that in a future update.

    Thanks
    Elana D.
