Unable to display more than 10 events in Upcoming Events list on home page

I looked at your home page and it seems you are using the Events List widget there. That widget has its own setting for the number of events to be displayed, and the maximum is 10.

The setting under “Events > Settings > General tab > Number of events to show per page” does not have an effect on the Events List widget.

Alternatively, if you also have Events Calendar Pro, you could use a shortcode to show a list of events, which will allow you to show more than 10.

There are some other free third-party plugins here in the repo which might be helpful too.

Did some more testing. The widget did allow me to save a number higher than 10 despite showing a warning. It also showed up on the front-end.

Thanks for researching that. I had forgotten that the widget was displaying the upcoming events. I tried to do what you did and saw the red outline around the field where I attempted to change the number from 10 to 12. The change didn’t take. Any hints about how you were able change it?

Hi @lannyherbwalkscom, that’s weird that should change/update that. I could see that you’re site is using WP Fastest Cache. Could you try clearing that out and see if that makes a difference?

Thanks for looking into it and getting back to me. I deleted WP Fastest Cache but the same thing happens. I manually change the 10 to 11 and the field border turns red. When I click “save” nothing happens. I also tried using a different browser but same result.

Hi @lannyherbwalkscom, appreciate you trying it out. There could be something unexpected here, that’s causing this issue.

Could you try deactivating all other plugins except for our plugins to see if that makes a difference? Moreover, could you switch to the default theme? Please read the Testing for Conflicts article before doing anything. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/

We’d recommend conducting these tests on a Staging Server, and also please do keep a working backup of your website.

@encamara I have not resolved it yet. Now that I realize that the widget in question was created by The Events Calendar (please correct me if I’m wrong) then I wonder why the plugin developers can’t edit the widget to accept more than 10 instead of me having to go through so many steps to fix it. I contacted a professional who got the same results I did and I would have to pay him to go through the steps suggested above. Other than this one issue, I’m happy with the free version of the plugin and can’t afford any more website expenses right now.
