The dropdown arrow icon on the main menu is showing as a square on all browsers. It looks like for some reason the icons aren’t loading / aren’t found.

Any idea how to fix this? Thanks.

    Hi bamboom,

Please check through the settings for any optimisation plugins you have installed and make sure any “Disable dashicons” options are not enabled (i.e. you want dashicons to be loaded)

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for coming back to me.

Yep I’ve already looked into that (just to show I did use the search button before leaving this post ?? ), and none of them have an option to disable dashicons. I’ve checked through all our caching plugins and systems and there’s no similar options that are set to disable icons, emojis or graphic assets.

It shows fine when you’re logged in, it’s only when you’re logged out that they don’t display. So I don’t think it’s a site wide disabling of something, as it wouldn’t show to logged in users if it was.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi bamboom,

There will be some code somewhere that’s disabling it, it’s just finding out where. Please try disabling all caching/minification plugins and see if they reappear, 99% of the time it is one of these plugins causing the issue.

Hi, all plugins caching / minification / speed boost plugins have been disabled. Still no joy.

    Hi,

Please check the page source in a private browser window, for me is it still optimised/minified.

Don’t worry. We figured it out. It seems to be an issue with our Navigation font (Poppins) not recognising that arrow character – hence why it can’t display it.

We’ll find a hacky way to get it working, thanks ??
