EXACTLY what I was looking for!

Have a complex component-based type of products achieved via 3rd-party plugins. This plugin gets it anyway and is able to reproduce the cart perfectly w/o any glitches. No feature-creep. Does exactly as it says w/o being intrusive. As a dev myself, was astonished to see how simple the idea & implementation is, as it takes just 140 lines of spaced code. Was expecting something quite more complex. Good job!
