• We are going to switch to a new LMS platform one of these days. We tested LifterSMS and as it is at this moment, we wouldn’t use it. It’s to complicated (if possible at all) to assign teachers (instructors) to a course without giving them acces to changing the (content of) course or lessons etc. We need this to be separated. For example Learndash (I like their user interface less than LifterSMS) has many more options for managing access to the content of the lessons by the teachers / instructors. We just hope this changes before we make the switch.

  • Hi,

If I were in your situation, I would add a custom meta field where I can write a name and call that in my theme to display it. I will also hide the original course author name with CSS or add some custom code on a child theme.

I think the customizations you’re looking to make should be fairly easy and wouldn’t take more than 30 mins for a developer. LifterLMS has a page called “Experts”. You can hire someone from there or give the idea above a try.

You can also create a support ticket from the LifterLMS website to ask for specific instructions and file names that are needed for this process.
