• I host a blog using wordpress.com using my own domain (.net). I want to migrate all of the content to a new domain (.com). I would like to keep the same WordPress template and manage the blog in the exact same way on the new domain. I have already purchased the new domain and a hosting package. Here are my questions:

    1. Will I be able to manage a WordPress 3.0 blog from any computer by logging into a control panel?

    2. Or must WordPress 3.0 be managed from the computer on which the software is downloaded?

    3. Will I be able to migrate all of my posts and pages from WordPress.com to WordPress 3.0 on the new domain?

    Many thanks.

  • 1) yes
    2) you don’t install it on your computer – you just download it to your computer to upload to your web server. Also, check as some hosts have a one click wordpress install – then you don’t download anything.
    3) yes
    dashboard -> tools -> export
    at .com blog
    dashboard -> tools -> import
    at new blog

    you will still have to install the theme and plugins you want on the new blog
    you can do this from the dashboard
