Because my domain has a “-” in it, the spaminator is nailing my own pings between blogs on the domain. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix the regex to let it work for my domain?

    Thx…

Not a clue, that’s why I switched to Spam Karma.

I’d assume it’d be fairly clear somewhere, checking for the hyphens. I’m about to add a two-or-more-hyphens check to CG-AntiSpam, but a single hyphen is used too frequently. More than a single one though I haven’t really seen on active sites (and in theory, when I add some whitelisting, you could add singular sites back in if ever needed).

If you can’t figure it out, post back here — I don’t know that I have time in the next day or so, but could possibly take a look. Otherwise, write the author. ??

Here are some examples of legitimate URLs which I can never post on Spaminator-protected blogs due to the hyphen reason:

I was planning on checking the DOMAIN, not the entire URL. Yes, any nice-URI formatted URL will have hyphens. ?? And, that’s why it’s one of a dozen different checks — because no single solution catches every instance of spamming…

    Thanks David…

I’ll probably add a whitelist check on it in the code. Easier to just skip the spaminator entirely if the email address is my own domain.

Otherwise, It’s worked great. Very few false positives, and it’s put tigerspice and the like out of business on my many blogs.

    Cheers,

    Mark
