    Hi

I am using a fresh install of WordPress. I have just installed Jetpack and I’m trying to connect to my Twiller and Tumblr accounts.

I selected my Twitter account and entered my credentials. I received the following error: 500 status code for “POST/sites170715137/publicize-connections/new”.

I went to Jetpack troubleshooting and ran the debug tool. It gave me the error: XML-RPC is not responding correctly ( 520 ).

I am not sure what to do next.

FYI, my Twitter account user is @rightingtheshi1. My Tumblr username is rightingtheship.

Please let me know if you require additional information. I will likely need instructions on how to acquire it if you do. Thank you.

    Hi there,

While your site is publicly accessible, we cannot access your site’s XML-RPC file: https://ENTER-YOUR-SITE.ca/xmlrpc.php [currently, your site is not loading for this URL]

This file is used by Jetpack and other plugins and apps to connect to your site. It must return the following message: XML-RPC?server accepts POST requests only, and this is the reason your accounts are not getting connected!

You can see a working example here: https://wp.cloud/xmlrpc.php

Since your site doesn’t load?for this page, I would recommend that you check the following:

    • Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them? You might also want to check your site’s .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to the?xmlrpc.php file.
    • Does your hosting provider block access to this file? If you don’t find any plugin that may block access to the file on your site, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host.

Once you are able to access your site’s xmlrpc.php file, please try to reconnect your site with Jetpack.

Let me know how it goes!

I contacted my host as you suggested. The issue has been fixed.
