After updating to WordPress 6.0.2 loadtime site got extremely slow

    Hi,

    The last few months I have been optimizing our site and I got the loadtime under 3 seconds; could be better, but it used to be worse.
    Two weeks ago I (manually) updated to WordPress 6.0.2 and suddenly the loadtime is 14 to 27 seconds. Even the dashboard is slow. I can’t figure out why this is happening. I would appreciate any help.

    This problem may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to deactivate all plugins and switch to the default Twenty Twenty-One theme. If the problem goes away, re-activate them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

    If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to deactivate all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re still logged in without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Thank you for your reply. I tried your method en the culprit seems to be the plugin Elementor. This sucks, because it’s not that easy to just get rid off because we’ve used it to create the whole site. We’ve got a Pro subscription with them, so I’ll check with them to see if they have a solution.

    Follow up: I tried all day to get help from Elementor, but they have been deeply unhelpful. Claiming they can’t help at all with speed optimization issues and giving me lists of links about speed optimization.
    I don’t need help with speed optimization. I was fine with speed optimization before this wordpress update. My issue was that after a wordpress update their plugin (which I pay for) seems to be suddenly incompatible. Annyway, I’m annoyed with them and I don’t think this issue is getting a resolve so I’ll close this topic now.
