Need developer help to clean site after Anonymous Fox attack

  • Hello, I have been trying to deal with the fallout from an Anonymous Fox attack several months ago, but I am really out of my depth. We are a not-for-profit community organisation based in Santiago, Chile, but I have recently moved back to Australia. I set up the website but I can’t handle the backed technical stuff. Our hosting provider Flexihostings has always supported us well through their 24/7 Tech Support, but in the last few months they have been advising me to contact a WordPress developer to do a clean of infected files. I need help. This is the latest mesaage from Flexihostings. I deleted the Protect Uploads plugin this morning and my website and admin end went blank, this is their response to my call for help:

    `Upon checking we can see that the your account is missing some wordpress files, Which is causing the issue. We have checked backups at our end and found September 25th and Oct 2nd backups. Oct 2nd backups also didn’t have the missing files. September 25th backup have the missing files but that backup has infected files presents.We have checked restoring Sept 25th backup and the site is loading, but we can found infected files in that backup. So we revert it back. So please check your account and manually update your wordpress. You can follow below link to update wordpress manually.

    Also before updating wordpress please check your account with the help of an developer and remove infected or unwanted files from your account. When we check we can see one suspicious directory under plugins directory(dzzdgpo). Please check other directories too. Also if you want to restore the September 25th backup and then you will remove the infected files from the account. Please confirm the same also. Either way you have to check your account and remove unwanted or infected files and then manually update your wordpress.”

    It’s really getting far too complicated for me. I hope someone can offer me some help.
