Sitemap.xml slow to load

    Our XML sitemap at https://www.hawsons.co.uk/sitemap.xml takes a long time to load (10 seconds). This may or may not be the reason why our WP Rocket caching is not working as it should, as it’s possible that WP Rocket can’t get the information from the sitemap to cache the pages. I notice that the http version ie. https://www.hawsons.co.uk/sitemap.xml loads almost instantly. Do you have any advice on how to identify what is wrong / to speed up the https version?

    Thanks for raising the concern. We have observed that your sitemap has a huge amount of posts and pages available. The sitemap generated by XML sitemap plugins is virtual and it re-builds every time you hit the sitemap URL. The sitemap generation speed also depends upon memory resource occupancy, server traffic and network speed. We are going to release a major version soon which omits this limitation, please let us know meanwhile we can help in any other way. Thanks.
