    Hello.

Please consider to support also wpForo forum plugin.

wpForo doesn’t use custom posts but its own format and db tables.

    I would be great.

    Thank you

    Hi @dimalifragis,

I thought you didn’t want WordPress Popular Posts tracking forum views? I’m a little confused now hahaha.

Hehe, and you are right to be confused. Most of my requests at www.ads-software.com are from customer’s sites, so different sites, different needs.

And i do not want to track the page of the forum with the shortcode, but have some statistics for the topics and posts. And i can’t make it happen. All i see is the page of the forum to be counted.

wpForo doesn’t have custom posts but their own.

    Thank you !

(how wpForo works: you add a shortcode to a page and that’s it)

IIRC wpForo tracks its own views count though. I guess it only needs a widget or a shortcode or a block to render its most viewed topics? Are you sure something like that doesn’t exist already?

Yes wpForo has a widget for Recent topics that can be ordered by views/posts/created/modified.

Currently we use ordered by views, but that is a total number since 5 years ago it started the forum. This is somehow Total popular ever (wall of fame?).

No trending, since there is no date frame to be selected.

Ah, I see. Yeah, showing something like “Today’s most viewed topics” may not be something wpForo does as this kind of feature can be very resource intensive on an already resource intensive type of plugin.

Alright, I’ll see what I can do. No promises though so don’t get too excited yet.

Sure, just a request, i fully understand what you say since a forum can have a large ammount of topics / posts.

Just an idea, is to only track Topics. Not posts (replies) in the topics. That would be much faster, i guess.

    Thank you
