When you are on the menu page in wordpress dashboard, there is a Screen Options at the right top corner. Click it and select the ‘Link Target’ in ‘Advance menu properties’. You will see the link target dropdown in the menu item below. Select open in new tab for your menu item…

For regular links…..
If you are using visual editor of wordpress then while creating any link it will ask you for target
- open in same window……….so choose according to your needs.
But if you want to create a link in HTML formats so target="_blank"
is to use in html…
For example (general link)
<a href="https://bloggmaker.com" title="WordPress blog expert">WordPress Designer</a>
= WordPress Designer
(open in new tab – Targeted link)For this just change a little in your html link add target="_blank"
<a href="https://bloggmaker.com" target="_blank" title="WordPress blog expert">WordPress Designer</a>
