Are you using any caching plugins on your website?

Please follow these steps to determine if there is a theme/plugin conflict:

1. Switch your theme to Storefront.
2. Disable all plugins except WooCommerce.
3. Perform the action that causes the issue.

If the issue is resolved after switching to Storefront theme and deactivating all other plugins except WooCommerce, the problem may be with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your plugins one by one, testing after each reactivation until you find the one causing the issue.

If the issue persists despite following the above steps, kindly share the following information:

1. System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
2. Fatal Error Log: A copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

Example, category has 30 products distributed over 2 pages. I would go to page 1 of that category and the products would show, go to page 2 and I would see repeating products from page one. I go back to page one using the page 1 link and suddenly the missing products show up. This is resulting in lots of lost sales for me.

Can you please share with us a specific product category where this is happening so that we could check this further? I checked your site, however, I was not able to replicate the issue.

Note the products listed have changed. This results in some products not being shown if you just go to the products in order 1, 2, 3 …. as it seems some of the products get loaded twice but when you go back to the first page after initially loading it the problem clears.

I tried to solve the problem by turning on infinite scroll on products, but then the images do not load on infinite scroll. I read that this is caused by a caching issue, so I turned off infinite scroll.

So now I have to choose between infinite scroll with no images or page by page with products not showing up.

Thanks for clarifying further. I’ll go ahead and loop back to this:

From what I understand, there are further options. In the store’s report, I can see that the latest WooCommerce version is installed.

My question: Has this issue started appearing after upgrading WooCommerce to the latest version?

If yes, that is a clear indicator of a theme/plugin conflict.
The WP Rollback plugin is your friend here.

If otherwise, the only way to pin down the issue would be to first test against a set of tools that is known to have tight compatibility.

Here are some steps you can follow:

0. Switch the active theme to Storefront
1. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce. You can do this manually or use a plugin to help (see below for tools).
2. Try to reproduce the problem again. If the problem is resolved, it’s a plugin conflict. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, continue to the next step.
3. Reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

That plug-in for dissabling all plug-ins is a lifesaver for troubleshooting, thanks for pointing it out to me. I have had this problem for a long time but only got around to trying to address it now. I will copy the website to a staging area and try and see if the issue is resolved by changing themes.

I seem to have fixed the issue by changing product sorting. My logic was that the product sorting parameter was misbehaving, so changing the product sorting would overwrite the currently stored sort setting and this seems to have fixed the problem. As to what has caused the problem in the first place I have no clue.

In the staging site turning off all plug-ins initially did not fix it, but then after testing on storefront theme and not succeeding but changing back to the original theme, everything started working correctly. So no clue what actually caused the issue
