I’m avoiding use of plugin files or templates due to plugin updates!

I added the category column using your snippet with a short code and I have to add this shortcode in templates/content-job-listing.php

is there any way to add this shortcode to this file without touching this file ? something like a hook or action can be placed in code snippets plugin ?

I’m trying to avoid using the plugin files and trying to place the code in code snippets plugin due to plugin updates

The whole point of template files is to allow you to make changes to a file without fear that plugin updates will override your changes. ??

In order to override content-job_listing.php, you’ll need to override the template, as explained in

No. Code Snippets is for snippets which would normally go in functions.php in your theme directory. It will not override other files like content-job_listing.php.
