    Gday
FOr the second time now a wordpress site of mine will display perfectly in every browser execpt of course explorer, the last one I fixed by wiping everything, lost all posts etc and starting again. This one is a charity site for Rotary and I dont want to do that again, its like it is not reading the CSS etc, here is the site, try it in FF and you will see its fine then explorer to see the issue.
Frustrating fingers crossed for a simple solution

  • I don’t have access to Internet Explorer as I’m on a Mac, but one thing that’s worth looking at is what problems occur in IE 6, 7, and 8 to see the differences. Usually of course 8 is more stable and will require less work to fix.

Many sites use an if IE6 question which displays a different CSS file, but this is obviously a lot of work for a largely unsupported browser.

When we re-launched our site there were some issues with how it displayed in IE, and we just went for trial and error in fixing it. I seem to remember things I don’t use so much like display: overflow and things like that seemed to help.

I’m not sure what it is supposed to look like, but I can see your site looking ok in IE7. It’s definitely reading css. I don’t have access to FF to compare

This might gives some things to look at.

If you paste content from MS Word it can sometimes break the layout. Use the “paste from word” icon in the extended visual editor toolbar and paste the stuff from Word into the window that pops up and then click the “insert” button. That will strip out the offending MS Word code that messes things up. the “Moses Leaves for the Mountains of the Moon” post has some MS word code in it. Select all the post text in the textarea . copy and delete the text and click the “paste from word” icon. Paste the text in there and reinsert the text. And update your post.

Bless your heart keesiemeijer, that was the issue, I will send an email to the author and let him know about not doing that again, much appreciated.
