File Uploads in Theme Options Page

OK, I’ve written a theme options page and have it all hooked up according to this Codex article: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Creating_Options_Pages. It works great EXCEPT for the fact that I want to do a file upload and by the time I get the page back from options.php the $_FILES variable has already been lost.
Is there a hook or something I can call to get hold of $_FILES?
