WordPress stats not working

I set up my self hosted wordpress site with my api key from my wordpress.com blog so I can use the stats plugin. I have been using that plugin for around a month with no problems, but all of a sudden now it says that my wordpress.com account is not authorized to view the stats of my selfhosted site. I didn’t change anything, I checked the stats probably around an hour ago and then went to refresh to check them again and now it doesn’t work.

any help with this would be much appreciated!
