After importing my table from excel the data format is shown like this Print Screen in Edit Table it shows like this

    I tried using the "columnDefs": [ { "type": "date-eu", "targets": [ 0 ] } ], "order": [ [ 0, "desc" ] ] but it never had any effect.

What am I missing to format the date?

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

This is caused by the Excel import not being able to properly import dates at this time (this is something that I’m working on for TablePress 2.0, see https://tablepress.org/8-million-downloads-tablepress-2-0/ for some more information).

In the meantime, I therefore recommend to save the table to the CSV format in Excel and then import that .csv file into TablePress. This should preserve the date in the same format that you have in Excel.

That “Custom Command” does not influence this here at all. It would only be needed if your desired date format is in the dd.mm.yyyy format, as it would then allow sorting that format for dates in the first column of your table.

    Regards,
    Tobias
