Diference between PayPal Checkout and PayPal PLUS

    Dear team,

    Currently PayPal is forcing us to switch from “PayPal PLUS” to “PayPal Checkout”. We were using “PayPal PLUS für WooCommerce”, Version 2.2.1 von Inpsyde so far… Now we are switching to this “official new PayPal Plugin”.

    a) Does this plugin work with both? PayPal PLUS and PayPal Checkout?
    b) Can we use the same connection strings as we entered for PayPal Plus? (Secret ID etc.)
    c) Does this plugin require an already activated new “PayPal Checkout” in the backend of PayPal? (Because we are in this process currently…)
    d) Can we use our sandbox created for PayPal PLUS to test this plugin?
    Do we need other sandbox credentials for connection?

    Hello @ralfs2

    Let me try to answer you:
    a) Yes, this plugin is intended to replaced Standard, Checkout and PLUS, and it should work for all.
    b) I would expect it can, but I would advise against it. The best way to work with our plugin is to connect your account via the Connect wizard (Blue button “Activate PayPal”). You could avoid many issues by doing this.
    c) The only thing our plugin requires is WooCommerce and a PayPal account in order to function.
    d) I think sandbox accounts can be used anywhere. The accounts didn’t change from one plugin to the other, so this should be no issue.
