Theme renders incorrectly after updating to WP 3.0.1

  • My site uses a custom theme which worked well in all major browsers before updating to WP 3.0.1.

    After updating, the search box in the footer goes to a 2nd line and messes up the layout:

    Wondering if WP 3.x changed how form elements are rendered, and what I can do to fix it. FWIW, I designed the site but did not do the code. I have basic CSS skills, but am far from expert.

    Ok, looks like we figured it out. For anyone else running into the same issue, WordPress 3 modifies the form elements and may break your search box formatting. Any tips on making themes compatible in advance would be appreciated.
