• I’m having the same problem another user reported 4 years ago: In the “Toot Editor” control panel, the message “Loading, please wait…” appears in the editing area, but nothing ever takes its place.

I assume that what’s supposed to happen here is that a Mastodon message begins to form as I type, using the title, permalink, and other items based upon my configuration of Mastodon Auto Share. But that never happens.

However, I have discovered that I can delete the “Loading, please wait…” message and replace it with any custom text I want, including a permalink (or wp.me shortlink) and this text will be sent to Mastodon.

If I attempt to enter the shortcodes used in the “Advanced Configuration” tab of the Mastodon Auto Share settings, the shortcodes are sent to Mastodon instead of the text from the post. (For example, [title] displays “[title]” and not the post title.)

So I can make this plugin work for my needs, but I have to do extra work that I’d hoped would be done automatically.
