    Dear Inpsyde Team,

I configured the plugin that it sets up to additional entrys in the checkout area. One for PayPal, Pay Later and Girocard, a second one for the credit cards. With this configuration it is not obvious that PayPal is the one who processes the credit cards in the background.

Finally, when a customer places its order, can I distinguish or find out some how if he used PaPal, PayLater, Girocard or creditcard? Is it displayed or does Woocommerce show in the order overview only: “Paid by PayPal”?

Background: We would like to find out if there is a benefit for us to offer more payment methods…

    Best regards
    Ralf

Additional note: I played around a little bit in the testing environment. Obviously I can only distinguish between two general payments (depending on the gateways enabled in the Plugin settings.)
“PayPal/Pay Later/Girocard” on the one hand and the “creditcards” on the other hand.

It seems to be impossible to find out if the customer used e.g. “giropay” or “PayPal”… Any hints how I can find that out?

    Hello @ralfs2

    thanks for contacting us.

Sorry unfortunately PayPal does not provide these kind of information to merchants but they are already aware of it.

    Have a nice day
    Kind regards

    Thanks Andreas,

hopefully they provide this information somehow (at least in the log files) so that one has got a feeling which payments customers love most…

    Best regards

    Hi Ralf,

You may want to take a look into this thread here.
The used payment method is currently not specified in the WooCommerce order (similar to PayPal Plus), but there is a potential workaround and this functionality will be added in a future update.

In the meantime, you can see which payment method was used in the order within the PayPal order details.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi @ralfs2,

The latest update 2.0 displays the setting Separate Card Button from PayPal gateway which allows you to split the standard card button into a separate payment gateway: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/#standard-card-button
When this is enabled, WooCommerce treats the default card button as a separate payment gateway and will adapt order details, emails, etc. accordingly.
Other payment methods may get a similar functionality sometime in the next year. But before that, the feature from the thread above likely finds its way into the integration.
But since we haven’t heard back from you about this and the feature is on the to-do list, I’ll mark it as resolved for now.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
