When clicking ‘New Advert’, I receive the message “There was an error loading the page. Please try again by reloading the page via the menu on the left.”

I’ve diagnosed the problem as a database issue. In my error log, I have the following:
“WordPress database error Unknown column ‘desktop’ in ‘field list’ for query INSERT INTO wp_adrotate (title, bannercode, thetime, updated, author, imagetype, image, tracker, show_everyone, desktop, mobile, tablet, os_ios, os_android, os_other, type, weight, autodelete, budget, crate, irate, state_req, cities, states, countries)…”

I’ve followed steps in previous support threads of heading to Settings > Maintenance > Run Updater. I’ve also attempted to manually modify the mySQL database in order to add the missing columns. This briefly solved the issue, but it has now recurred.

Any help would be appreciated! I’m happy to delete the AdRotate component of the database and start from scratch but can’t work out how to do this without it causing additional issues.

Sounds like an update didn’t install properly. The desktop column has been part of AdRotate for several years though.

A fresh install should fix things (because it would delete the database). But then you’ll loose all ads and related data of-course.

If you want to patch up the database and add the missing bits let me know all errors that mention missing columns from AdRotate.
If Desktop is missing it’s likely that the other devices types are missing too – tablet and mobile, and some os options (as they were part of the same update).
You can find all such errors in the servers error_log file.
