    Hi,

After upgrading to Woocommerce 7.1, the overall stock number does not match with the stock in the locations. The locations are corrrect, but the main stock is not decremented after an order is placed.

Thsi error is shown in the product edit screen:

The total stock does not match the sum of the locations stock. Please update this product to fix it or use cron jobs..

    Any ideas please ?

Going back to Woocommerce 7.0.1 seems to fix it.

    Regards
    Simon Silver

    Dear Simon,

I couldn’t understand the following line,

“The total stock does not match the sum of the locations stock. Please update this product to fix it or use cron jobs..”

Did you try the cron jobs already?

    Hi Fahad,

That’s the message that your plugin generates. I just copied and pasted it.

No – I have not tried the cron jobs because this is happening on every single order, so that’s not workable.

I can fix each product by going to the product edit screen and just pressing update.

Again – we can’t really do this for every product on every order – something has changed in Woocommerce 7.1 that seems to have broken your plugin. if I roll back to 7.0.1, then it’s fine – stock is decremeneted properley after each order but not with 7.1

Nothing is updated, please do not worry and you do not need to run cron job for every single product. Cron job will run once and it will update all products at once. Please try, alternatively you can use the urgent help option under the help tab so I can schedule a Google meeting with you to help.

But does that mean we have to run the cron job every time there is a new order ?

Cron need to set with an interval of 5 or 10 minutes, that’s it.

    Hi Fahad,

The problem is that on a busy site, one order can place an item out of stock in the stock locations but still showing as availble to purchase because the main stock level has not been updated.

For now the solution is cron job, if you have a better solution, let me know so I can interject.

    Hi Fahad,

OK – that’s not very workable – I have had multiple instances of this on 2 client sites and they need the stock to be updated immediately.

Obviously, this works fine with the old version of Woocommerce.

Are you planning an update at some point to fix this and do you know why it’s happening ?

Any help would be appreciated because at the moment it means that these sites cannot move beyond WordPress 7.0.1

Hello, I have the same problem and with the update 2.4.0 not resolve it.
When someone buy an item, reduces the stock by 1 in the corresponding location, but is not deducted from the general stock.
    What can I do?
    Thanks you and best regards

Same problem here, and when I run the cron my total stock update to zero. Please find a solution for this.

    The cron answer is this:

    DELETE FROM al_postmeta WHERE meta_key LIKE ‘_slw_cron_sniffed_%’ AND meta_value!=’202211270131′ AND post_id=’1713′

ID: 1713- BLACK OWL FIRE 750ML stock updated to 0.

Updating to the main stock value is a different issue and reduction is a different one. @franciscobp92 I have replied to you on your dedicated support thread, please continue the discussion further there.

Sorry, I haven’t received an answer yet. Thank you
