I’ve been asked to disable the emails going out to post authors whenever someone comments on a post. I can see under “Settings>Discussion” where I can set the admin. notification. But not seeing anywhere I can toggle on or off the notifications that go to post authors.

Is there any way to disable that function?

    Thanks.

  • Hey @megunticook

Have tested to see if doesn’t apply to all users when you de-select the option: email me whenever anyone posts a comment?

I did a little research on Discussion settings, and it does not appear that there is a way to disable this function on an individual user level. However, the option that Wes mentioned (Settings > Discussion > Email me whenever > Anyone posts a comment) controls this setting on a global level for all users.

You may be able to use a plugin to manage individual notifications, although I don’t personally have any experience with any. In a quick search, I found WP Comment Notification, which looks promising, so give it a try if you’d like!

Also, here is a search you can use to peruse more related plugins:

Would love to hear back if you find a good solution for your needs. Good luck!

So you’re saying if I uncheck the “Email me whenever anyone posts a comment” checkbox in Settings>Discussion that doesn’t apply just to the site admin. but also post authors?

I’ll give that a try and see if it works.

    Thanks.

Yes, that’s what I’ve heard, but I haven’t tried it out since I don’t have a multi-author site to test it on. Please let us know how that works for you!
