    Hi there!

When a user uses the login/register page to create a new account, there is (per default) just an email-field to fill out.

    1) If a user enters any email address and press “register”, an email is sent to this address, with a “lost-password-link”…?? -> Is this normal? I expected to get a link to “set” a password…?

    2) And secondly – immediately after pressing “register” the new user enters the myaccount page…without setting a password? …and without proofing the emailadress is his/hers? -> Is this normal??

    3) And then – being on the myaccount page, this new user cannot enter a password, because the “actual password” field has to stay empty…but the dialog does not work with an empty “actual password” field…but the user does not have a password at this time…

    Thanks for help on this!

  • Hi @imagostudio

    Thanks for reaching out!

Firstly, I apologize for the delayed response.

On my personal site running the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled, this is what I see on my My Account page:

I checked your My Account page and this is what I’m seeing on my end:

This is not the default layout of the My Account page, it could be your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. Can you please try to perform a full conflict test and see if that works?

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    Hi!

    Thanks for your response!

    – yes, the layout is comming from my theme. The compatibility with my theme is already checked several times! Thats not the issue.

    – the layout you see from my login/register site is ok. But thats not the problem! The problem is, when you enter an email address an press “register”…! Then you will enter the myaccount page WITHOUT confirming the sent email – and this behaviour comes from woo, the theme just does the layout, right?

    Thanks!

    Hi @xue28

The easyest would be to have a “password” field on the registration page!
    How can this be done??

    Thanks,
    Andreas

    This is solved!

…the name of the option in the woo-settings to activate the password field is not as expected if you search for a password field…;-)

-> By deactivating the “email a password link” you enable the password field…OK, now I know! ??

    Hi @imagostudio

I’m glad you were able to find a solution to your inquiry here and thanks for sharing it with the community too! ??

Meanwhile, if you have a few minutes, we’d love it if you could leave us a review:
