Hi @revived,
PayPal Payments works similar to the PayPal Checkout plugin, but can do a lot of new things the old plugin couldn’t.
Usually, there is not much to consider, as most things happen automatically.
PayPal Payments has a compatibility layer with the Checkout plugin and automatically takes over most of the configuration.
You only have to connect your PayPal account again to the new plugin because it uses a newer API that does not work with the old credentials.
There is an upgrade guide here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/paypal-payments-upgrade-guide/
And the plugin documentation with more details about the setup is here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/
In the vast majority of cases, setting up the plugin is a straightforward and smooth process, especially when using the onboarding wizard. But the team is here to help if any questions come up during the setup.
@blclda May I ask, do you mean you prefer the old PayPal Standard, or the PayPal Checkout plugin over PayPal Payments? Would you also mind telling us what makes you prefer an older integration?
Feedback or suggestions are always highly appreciated.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
Niklas
