• I haven’t been able to update this plugin the last TWO times because it breaks my site & I get a 504 error. So I guess it’s time to find a new security plugin after using this one for at least the last 4 years because this can’t be secure.

  • Thanks for your thoughts about Wordfence.

I don’t see a forum post about this so it will be difficult to tell you what happened. If you care to post details and screenshots of the error you get (copying and pasting the error might be more helpful) we’ll be happy to work with you to tell you what happened. You can open a new topic at https://wordfence.io/CommunitySupport

I am also experiencing some similar weirdness w/ WordFence 7.8.0-7.8.2 on WP Core 6.1.1 and PHP 8

This is impacting my local and production environment.. Users are unable to login, the 2FA prompt never shows. I am able to get into the site by append the 2FA code immediately after my pw (the legacy 2FA)

I’m going to try and roll back to 7.6.x given that was the last working version. Quite frustrating!

Alright as suggested, rolling back to 7.6.1 immediately resolves my issues on local. I’ll try 7.7.x… Actually it’s probably a subsequent plugin update and likely not the 7.8.x release… will update again once I’ve identified

    Thoughts on this one, @wfsupport

Yeah, that’s because NONE of the support threads had ANY comments at all, so I didn’t believe I’d get any help there. Thanks, though.

In the last 2 months, 210 out of 307 support threads have been resolved with the users so I’m not exactly sure where you came by this information that “NONE of the support threads had ANY comments at all”. We provide trained and paid staff in the forums to answer questions but keep in mind that the forums, according to www.ads-software.com, are 100% voluntary. Voluntary for you to seek support or post suggestions to other users, and voluntary for plugin and theme authors to offer support. There isn’t an ‘SLA’ or mandatory requirement for authors to assist users. We’ve always strived to assist our users as best we can here but we can’t always answer every request or fix every problem. If you need dedicated one-on-one assistance then you should investigate whether or not a paid plan is something more in line with your needs.

    Mia
