    Hello !
Just after a migration of my wordpress site, with a change of url (removing /wordpress/, Google site kit is down. It only shows blank pages for dashboard and settings.
Following previous posts about the same issue:
I deactivated and reactivated, a message told me that the plugin had detected the url change and I passed the Google reactivation process with no problem. Then the plugin was still empty.
I tried troubleshooting mode and it still happens with the default theme and only this plugin active. So, as mentioned, I open a topic ??
Is it just a matter of time or do I have to do something?
    Wordpress is 6.1.1.
    All plugins up to date.
    Theme Neve is so.
    Thanks for the help!

Hello @sophiaknows thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting Site kit back up on your new URL. Can I first ask if you have tried a Site Kit reset? This is different to simply deactivating and reactivating the plugin and should reset your URL on the service.

Let me know how you get on with this and if you’re still facing the issue then we can continue to troubleshoot this with you.

    Hello Adam,
    Thank you for your answer!
Unfortunately, as the Settings page is a blank page, I can’t try a reset.
What can I do in this situation?

@sophiaknows You can also perform a reset by going to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit. Do you have this option? If so please try this and then once more try to set up your Site Kit.

    Hello @adamdunnage ,
I did the reset without improvement, and even the settings tab disappeared from the back office.
    Can I do anything else?

@sophiaknows Sorry to hear that. Could you please share your Site Health Information which you can do using this private form. With this information I can check your setup to see if anything stands out here.

Thank you for your quick response, I filled out the form.
I hope this will help you.

@sophiaknows Thanks for sharing the information. When checking your website I am getting a 404 error. The page is loading but there are several of these errors in the console which you can check yourself.

I suspect something at the server level is misconfigured which may be a result of the migration you made previously. I’d suggest checking in with your hosting provider about this to see if they can fix these issues and if these are resolved and you still face the issue with Site Kit we can continue to look further into this.

    Thank you @adamdunnage,
I will ask my host and come back to say here if it changes anything or not.
    See you later!

    Hi @adamdunnage ,
I discovered the 404 cause, I weirdly set an option for my custom 404 page plugin, to force it even if it’s the correct url (and I had chosen to link to the homepage). It was just stupid, but thanks to you I found out about this potentially huge problem.
Do I need to refill the form with new site health data (Google site kit is still down)?

@sophiaknows Glad to have been able to help point out the 404 error and glad you have managed to resolve that. Are you still facing the Site Kit issue after fixing this? There is no need to refill the form but thank you for offering.

Could you also try a reset once more now that you’ve fixed the 404 issue and let me know how that goes and in the meantime I will continue to run some checks.

I tried a reset right after posting (and cleared cache), without any change. The dashboard is still blank, and the settings tab/page still missing.

@sophiaknows Thanks for your continued efforts with this. Could you try deleting the plugin files from your site directory and installing the plugin once more?

You will find the Site Kit plugin files at Site root > WP content > plugins > google-site-kit. If you’re unsure on how to do this then your hosting provider should be able to help with this. Once removed try downloading and installing the Site Kit plugin once more.

@adamdunnage That works! Everything is back (pages, tabs, connections)!
Thank you for guiding me, do you have an idea of the cause? Even if not, thank you very much!

@sophiaknows That’s great to hear! Glad I could help you with this. This will have been because the Site Kit plugin folder was expected in the new directory after you migrated your site but remained in the old directory. So deleting it and reinstalling the plugin placed the folder in the expected destination.

    Hello @adamdunnage
I don’t know if I should open a new topic or continue this one, because it’s still the same problem.
After fixing the problem 10 days ago, I still have to delete and reinstall the plugin every other day. I’m afraid of losing data every time, putting the tags with the Head plugin and footer just for the duration of the install isn’t really practical (and I don’t know if it’s helpful).
What can I do to keep Google Site Kit stable?
A precision: The site is connected to the applications even if the dashboard of the plugin is blank. Checking from UA or GA4 views, everything is fine. I wonder if I should leave it that way, using the plugin just to make sure the tags are in place and using the apps on their own.
Thanks in advance for your time.
