    Hello,

We have an woocommerce + subscriptions with a free trial period and we have some issues to manage the payment gateway with Paypal / Credit card.

Paypal support told us that we can try using their plugin to fix this situation.

Is braintree managing free trial subscriptions in a right way? I think we need to save a payment method on the free trial purchase and get the PayPal account authorized for future transactions.

    Regards,

  • Hi there @miguelgaton ??

Thanks for reaching out, let’s figure out why things are not lining up!
I understand you are using WooCommerce Subscriptions + Braintree for WooCommerce to offer subscriptions at your site; starting with a free trial.

The Braintree for WooCommerce gateway supports WooCommerce Subscriptions to let you sell products with recurring billing and WooCommerce Pre-Orders, which supports accepting payments for upcoming products as they ship or up-front.

Feel free to review the related FAQ on that, directly linked here.

Furthermore, for setting up free trial periods using WooCommerce Subscriptions, kindly check out the related documentation, directly linked here.

Could you elaborate further on how things are set up at your store?

Additionally, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then click the Copy for support button.?You can either paste it in your response here, or use https://pastebin.com/ for pasting it there and sharing it with us.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Thanks Pepe for your feedback.

We are currently using “WooCommerce Subscriptions” + “WooCommerce PayPal Payments” but we can not manage trial subscriptions in a right way (eCommerce is quite new so we have not track record with paypal to activate Reference Transactions) and paypal support tema suggested us to use Braintree solution to fix it.

And now I only want to be sure if your plugin can solve this situation in order to migrate from Paypal Payments to Braintree.

    Regards,

    Howdy @miguelgaton,

And now I only want to be sure if your plugin can solve this situation in order to migrate from Paypal Payments to Braintree.

I see. Rest easy, as that is what all the links to the related documentation verify: the Braintree for WooCommerce plugin is compatible with WooCommerce Subscriptions.

Here is a visual verification of this, as well.

I trust this clarifies things further. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance, we’re happy to help!

Ok, last question. No problems with subscriptions trials (0$ invoices) as first payment?

    regards,

    Hello,

No problems with subscriptions trials (0$ invoices) as first payment?

Yes, that’s possible. Not a problem with WooCommerce Subscriptions + Braintree for WooCommerce. WooCommerce Subscriptions can be configured to accept free trials.

You can check under WooCommerce > settings > subscriptions:

If that setting enabled, you would not be collecting any type of authorized payment information at checkout.

    I hope this provides clarity.

I’m marking this as resolved, as we haven’t heard from you for a while – we’ll be here if and/or when you’re ready.

    Cheers.
