Success message appears twice on successful form submission

  • Hello, I’m having an issue with the form submission success message. It appears twice when the form is finished submitting – both above and below the form fields.

    Is there a way to fix this so that the success message only appears once? Ideally below the form.

    This is how I have the form currently set up:

    [email* your-email akismet:author_email placeholder”Email Address”]

    [hidden text last-name]

    [submit “Sign Up”]

    WP Mail SMTP
    Yoast Duplicate Post

    Would any of these plugins cause the success message to show up twice like that?

    Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, Akismet Anti-Spam and WP Mail SMTP, and clearing all cache data.

    Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.
