    Hi,

I have realized that there is a conflict between Elementor and SiteKit by Google after disabling all my plugins one by one.

On the website, the drop-down menu of the form that says “select your country” keeps disappearing all time when Site Kit by Google. However, this only happens on mobile and not on desktop. Could you check why this is happening and how to fix this?

    Thanks

    Hi @chapterland,

Thanks for opening a support topic. Based on your comments I’d be happy to check this. So I can test this on my side can you share the steps to recreate, or provide details on the “Select your country” option, and where I can find it within Elementor?

When you mention this is only happening on mobile, this could also be related to a browser conflict or configuration. Once we know of the above we can do some testing.

    Hi @jamesosborne

Thank you so much for your quick reply.

These are the steps that should help you recreate the issue that we are facing:

    1. Open “edit with elementor” the page “home” (however, this happens on all of them)

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/DikyX4AGEzLV2X8SA

    2. Drop the element “form” into the module

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/9Uz1E5rCJFeG5kqi9

    3. Edit form (click on the top right corner of the element)

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/vMrZ5udMsmTuCv5Q9

    4. Add an item (field) called “select” to the form and add a list (in our case the list of countries)

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/FAtwJLxuRyUA5YPP6

    5. Click on “update” to save

    —-

Even if this is happenning on all pages of the website, I have removed this from the home (where I have done the previous example) as this is affecting our overal performance quite seriously and I have left a text box.

Please, check the following page using a mobile device (I have tested this using an Android Pixel 5) where I have left the drop-down menu with th error for testing porpouses:

Let me know if you have any further questions or even if you would like me to provide you access to the website to take a deeper look.

    Kind regards,
    Javier

Many thanks for the update, very thorough steps to recreate.

While I’m checking this on my side, can you share whether you encounter the same issue you temporary disable the Site Kit admin toolbar (Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Display relevant page stats in the Admin bar)? I ask as I’m wondering is there a multi party conflict with your optimization plugin (specifically minification) and the JavaScript assets used in the Site Kit admin toolbar.

Let me know if so, while I set up a form similar to your own.

    Hi @chapterland,

Just to keep you updated on this, I’ve been testing for the same issue and in my case I don’t encounter the same.

Please do let me know if the same occurs if you temporarily disable the Site Kit admin toolbar, or share your Site Health information and I can check for other possible causes, including a possible multi plugin conflict.

    Hi @jamesosborne

Thank you so much for your support and apologies for the late reply.

I have followed your steps and diasbled the site kit adming toolbar (it’s currently disabled in case you test this), but I have still encountered the same issue.

However, this only happens when I test it on an actual mobile device – when I simulate this on Google Chrome desktop is working fine. Please, have a look at the following recording I took on my Pixel 5 using Google Chrome. It works well when I disable the plugin “Site Kit by Google”.

I will share now my Site Health Information.

    Many thanks

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately I’ve been unable to test this on mobile. On the devices I tested your Cloudflare setup is reporting an issue with your origin host, see this recording. It’s the same from desktop at present.

Let me know once your site is live once more and I’ll perform some additional testing. If the same occurs I’ll propose some checks using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, to rule out a multi party conflict.

@jamesosborne thank you for flagging this! We moved servers and this caused the issue with cloudflare, however this has been fixed now and the website is working well.

Please, let me know if you have any further questions.

You can test this URL on mobile:

Thanks for the update. I’ve checked your site on mobile and I don’t see the dropdown working as it does on mobile.

Apart from the Site Kit admin toolbar code – which impacts logged in administrators only, the only code snippet Site Kit ads to users sites are a meta tag and the product specific snippets, as you’ll find here. For that reason I suspect what’s happening is a multi party plugin conflict, in particular as you’re using a caching/optimization plugin, along with Cloudflare, which features it’s own optimizations and maybe also a cached version of your content.

The next steps in order to troubleshoot this further is to perform some checks without the various optimisations you have applied active. Can you let me know once you have your optimization plugin deactivated? I’ll then compare you current site source code and check for the same issue.

As you may have optimisations applied at Cloudflare you may also wish to temporarily pause Cloudflare, before checking your site once more.

@jamesosborne I had removed the drop-down menu from that page since it was affecting performance.

Please, could you test this on the following page?

    https://learnjapaneselondon.com/japanese-language-workshops/hiragana-workshop/

As per your request, I have also paused all optimization plugins and cloudflare.

Please, let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi @chapterland,

Unfortunately the dropdown doesn’t appear for me. If you’ve reverted back to the input box, for understandable reasons, or in case your Cloudflare has cached your site, you may wish to create a new page with a duplicated form on, and share that with me (again with Cloudflare bypassed and your optimization plugin deactivated).

I’ll be online for the next few hours so I can keep an eye out for your update. Let me know the URL of a page with the duplicate form, or indeed feel free to switch back to a dropdown box for the country field on your homepage.

    Thread Starter chapterland

    (@chapterland)

@jamesosborne I have just reverted this on the home page.

Could you have a look, please?

    Many thanks

Many thanks for sharing. The dropdown does work for me at present, although it takes a couple of clicks, rather than not being responsive. I can see that your site also isn’t served from Cloudflare, and I don’t see signs of the same optimizations performed.

Can you check once more from your side?

    Thread Starter chapterland

    (@chapterland)

That’s exactly what was happening, however, when I stop site kit by Google it runs smoothly and I don’t need to tap two times to make it work properly. I am afraid that might affect our customer conversion rate.

Is there a way we could fix this?

As per your previous request, all optimization plugins have been stopped so they don’t interfere any testing.

    Plugin Support James Osborne

    (@jamesosborne)

Thanks for the update @chapterland. As the same doesn’t occur for me using a dropdown field with Elementor, let’s perform some additional checks, using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. To do so, follow the steps below:

    • Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
    • Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    • Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot“.
    • From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”, “Elementor” and “Elementor Pro”
    • View your form once more

Let me know how you get on with the above check. This can help rule out theme related or multi party plugin conflicts.

@jamesosborne thank you for your support. I have followed all your steps, but the same thing keeps happening. Same thing happens on incognito mode, but I couldn’t find any app recording incognito mode.
