• I was implementing the TT3 theme (notably populating the “images mise de l’avant” for the most recent posts (excuse me, I’m using the French version)… And decided to include two widgets : the Mail subscription widget and the search widget, at the bottom of the page. This is when it blocked the visualisation : no more access to the public page (the admin is always accessible). I was able to change to another Theme, I erased the TT3 theme and reinstalled it but I still have the critical error message (“Il y a eu une erreur critique sur ce site”.) when I try to use TT3.

I deleted the widgets, and got access to the site again. Is there something I’ve done wrong putting these widget there ?

    Thanks

I tried to reinstall the two widgets, one by one, and it is definitely the Mail Subscription that is causing problem. The Search seems OK : no critical error…

What plugin is providing the Mail Subscription widget?

It may be that that plugin is not compatible with block themes such as TT3??

When you changed to another theme, was it another block theme such as Twenty Twenty-Two or was it a “classic” theme that does not use block templates?

    Hi @gillesenvrac

Block themes like Twenty Twenty-Three do not support widgets. There are no widget areas in block themes.

I would suggest you ask the plugin developers directly if they plan to make them compatible with block themes in the future.

@zoonini I read “widgets” as possibly a block under the WIDGETS label in the block inserter panel, as this is also where the search block mentioned by @gillesenvrac is found.

I could be wrong but in any case yes it is advisable to ask the plugin developers directly as it is not a core block/widget.

@uxl Oh, good call, maybe that’s the case!

@gillesenvrac Let us know the name of your mail subscription plugin and we can help direct you to their support, so you can report the critical error you’re getting when using it.
