    Hi,

First of all, let me say that this plugin looks extremely powerful. Thanks for the work that you have put into this already!

Is there a way to enter running data without writing a new post? I train 2-3 times a week and do not intend to write a post every time, but I do want to record the running results to fully benefit from you plugin.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

  • Hey,

Im sorry, but as this plugin is made for a blog software the idea is to let it work with the blog feature. The whole idea is to use the post to comment your training, training thoughts or what ever – and then share your training with the readers.

Im glad you like the plugin so much that you like to use is it as a stand-alone solution – but this isnt possible yet, and Im not sure if it ever will be it.

One way could be to install wordpress on a localhost or a hidden subdomain. You could skip entering a post-msg, and just give your run a title.

Thats the best I can do…

    Hi,

I want to share the excellent graphs on my blog, but not the raw posts.

Here’s a perfect work around: I installed the “simply exclude” plugin to exclude all post in the category “running” from the blog’s front page. I categorize all new running log posts as “running”. I also excluded this category from the Twitter tool plugin.

So the posts are more or less invisible, but I have my running results visible on the runners log page. I am even considering buying a Garmin to make even better use of the plugin!

    Thanks again for this plugin.

Thanks for sharing this solution. I might add it to the FAQ section if its okay for you?

Feel free to rate the plugin.

Btw: I edited this post to the status: “Resolved” if that’s okay?

The “simply exclude” plugin didn’t work for me – I use WP 3.0.1 and I get the white screen problem every-time I try to use this plugin.

But I found another solution which avoids the installation of a plugin: You simply have to add a few lines of code to the functions.php file, as described on this site: https://www.locoed.com/web-design/how-to-exclude-category-posts-wordpress-tutorial-code/

For me, this works very well!

@aalemann Thanks for contributing with this work-around.

How about having the plugin work with posts that are published as Private posts, so they do not appear on the website, but the stats and runners log stuff can all still be accessed.

I’ve just answered my own question – I use the WP Hide Post plugin which does just the trick!
