    Hello

When I am in WP Admin, “something” is creating a whole new page called “Top Ten Photo Album” I know that I never ever made that page at any time. I think it is coming from the WP Photo Album Plus Plugin.
I have Trashed and Permanently Deleted the Page several times when I exit WP Admin, but it shows up the next time I open WP Admin.
I suppose that I could set all the Hide Page options, but I would rather never have this page.
    Can you please advise?
    Thank you
    Andrew

Please note, I have trashed the page again, so it will not be visible if you look at my website. It shows up between the “Home” and “About” pages

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This page is needed for in case there is a photo of the day widget or shortcode somewhere on the site, to function as a landing page where the results will be shown after a click on the photo of the day, e.g. the fullsize photo.

You can select a different page for it to be used, provided it has an appropriate landings shortcode; difficult and prone to mistakes and confusion.

The page itsself does no harm and eats no bread; you just should keep it alive; but you should remove it from the menu, as i understand it appears on the menu when created.

There are also a lot of other reasons why you should disable the feature that every new page is added to the menu, so what you should do is:

    • Go to the dashboard, menu item Appearance -> Menus
    • Untick the ‘Auto add pages’ selectionbox under Menu Settings
    • If the page appears in the menu, open the item by clicking the downarrow and click Remove.
    • Save the menu

    Hello

Thank you for your reply, however, the problem is not resolved.
I have the ‘Auto add pages’ unticked under Menu Settings.
But, the page gets created every time I exit WP Admin.
I have to remember to delete the Top Ten Photos page (Pages > All Pages) before closing WP Admin – quite annoying.

I have some kind of WPPA widget in the sidebar on the Home Page (and other pages). Is that causing the problem?
I have other WPPA widgets elsewhere, too.

It has been a long time since I worked on this website, but I never had this problem before when working within WP Admin

    Thank you

I still really do not understand what problem you have with having a page that you do not see the benefit of, while you may need it when the widget is configured so that clicking on the content of the widget should bring you to a page that shows something.

However, i will change the code so that the auto created landingpages will only be created when you really need them and not potentially only.

    Hi

Thank you for your reply. I think that you already fixed this because I do not see the “Top Ten” page being automatically created/displayed on the live website anymore (or in the WP backend).
I also just realized that I think I could have used the per-page options to permanently hide the “Top Ten” page after it auto-created. Is this correct?

In the end, I think it’s better that the “Top Ten” page isn’t auto-created for users. A bit confusing for learning/new website builders.
I will mark this as resolved and thank you for your patience and help.

    Andrew
