PHP update

  • Hi there,

    could anyone assist with the updating of the PHP? Possibly also explaining what it is precisely and why it is need.

    There was used to be assistance provided by MagniumThemes but it does not seem the case anymore.. anyone know another options?

  • PHP is the language that wordpress runs on. Is there a reason you want to preform an update? It should be a service provided by your hosting company. It would have to be loaded on the server.

    I am asking because the dashboard of my website keeps asking for.. So is this something that has nothing to do with wordpress but with the host of my site?

    Yes, as written by mrtom414 this is a service provided by your hoster. Please contact their support.

    guys, i heard from the people who are hosting the sever for my website and they say that the PHP gets updated automatically hence there is no problem at their end.. yet WP keeps asking me to update it, could there be an issue with the template, the theme or something?

    No, your hoster obviously did not understand your request. This may be due to unclear wording or because they simply don’t bother.

    What is shown to you by WordPress as PHP version? That should be at the point where you see the update request. If it is 7.4, your hoster should change to 8.0. Specifically, you would have to ask him.
