wp-content/uploads folder

Hi

I installed wordpress in two places on my server. one for the forum and another was so I could experiment with customisations etc. Well, I want to use the second one now – a year later – i exported and imported the posts from the old one, but the images are all still linked back to their root folder wp-content/uploads..

I was wondering, how could I import the old images into the new one without loosing their places in posts? and if I just download the entire wp-contents folder, uninstalled the old wordpress and reuploaded the old wp-contents folder to the same place, would it work?
