I have recently changed from the Rank Math plugin to the Yoast SEO plugin. I have found one issue. The rank math FAQs boxes were not changed to Yoast FAQs boxes. Does this means Yoast does not support the conversion of FAQ boxes.? It only supports the conversion of keywords, meta descriptions, and slugs.

  • Hi @amitchahariit,

Happy new year, I have checked here, and it is not possible to migrate that; the FAQ block is generated on wp_content and it stays on the part of the content from your post. Probably if you keep the old block as HTML, your FAQ markup should be valid.

I would test your website on the Rich result test to check if the snippets are valid; if not open an issue on GitHub.

    Hey @amitchahariit,

    Thank you for asking.

What Fellyph says is spot on, this is not being “transferred” or “converted” as these just remain in your post content. They are not options or post metadata in the database we can migrate.

You can check indeed if the Schema output on a page with such block still output valid Schema, if not, we recommend to rebuild them in our Yoast FAQ block.

Google does not show any FAQ Schema in the URL inspections for my website, which means that only plain HTML is left.

It is not possible for me to manually convert the FAQ boxes because my website has more than 160 posts and 300 FAQs.

Previously, when I switched from Yoast SEO to Rank Math, Rank Math provided a feature to automatically convert Yoast SEO’s FAQs to their own.

However, I now find that Yoast SEO is more suitable for my blog writing, but I am unable to use it because it does not have this feature.

I request that Yoast introduces this feature so that webmasters like myself can come back to Yoast and are not forced to use Rank Math.

Yoast has good developer team and its just a small feature.

    Hey @amitchahariit,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I can definitely understand the need if you have this amount of FAQ blocks. For feature requests, can you please create one on our GitHub repo? You can do this here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new?assignees=&labels=&template=Feature_request.md

    Thank you!
