Hello, is there a way to switch off this notification:

“Media Library?image ignored – the resulting resized image of 800×800 is?smaller than the minimum of 1200×1200 allowed by the Schema 1:1 (Google Rich Results) standard.”

-> and force the plugin to use the image, although it is too small?

    That would be great…

In my?shop?repeatedly have product-images which are too small. Since I am taking the images provided by the suppliers I cannot influence their size.

Often they just have 800px and nevertheless look fine on all devices. But this size is even still considered too small when I allow upscaling by 33%.

    Thank you,
    Sandra

I’m confused – why would you want to provide Google with an image that it cannot use? Instead, why not ask your suppliers for larger images? 1200px is the minimum required by many sites, not just Google.

Thank you for your quick answer. Hm, indeed I am happy that I can just take the images from them without any copyright hassles …

Can you tell me the Google link where its said, that 1200 is the minimum, please?

    I do not find it.

The problem is, in the Search Console it says “image field is missing”, which is a major fault (red).
While with an image wich is there, but too small, would maybe just be a minor fault (yellow)?

    But I don’t know honestly.

    Example.

    Thank you, Sandra

Sorry for answering myself once more. ??

I have now set the WPSSO Plugin to enlarge the images as much as necessary.

Sure, this is not a very elegant solution – but it seems, Google is happy with it. I think, definitely better than “no images”!
At least for a quick fix (maybe I can exchange some pics in long term).

Google is constantly changing their minds about things. Although they were slowly adding a minimum image size of 1200px to their guidelines, it seems they’ve back-tracked on that and removed all mention of minimum image sizes. I’m guessing they prefer to use whatever they find in different ways – if the image is 1200px or more, it will be displayed more prominently, and if too small, may be shown as a thumbnail or not at all. Google Merchant still requires 800px, so I would not use images smaller than this. The next version of WPSSO Core will allow the image sizes for Google (1:1, 4:3, and 16:9) to be defined with a smaller size than 1200px.
