I’m using this plugin and have found it to be pretty helpful in organizing and managing a wide array of images. But there is one shortfall; a lack of human-readable URLs for link sharing and, it would seem, search engine crawling.

For example, just consider the first gallery on the gallery landing page, A. D. Lewis. I did figure out how to show the query string, which has given me a URL I can point to:

    https://duluthdaylily.com/daylily-hemerocallis-photo-galleries/?type_0=gallery&album_gallery_id_0=1

That gallery does not seem to be indexed by Google, at least it doesn’t come up in any results although the main gallery page does.

However, interestingly, Google has somehow found a different page, with a full URL, for another variety’s gallery.

    https://duluthdaylily.com/bwg_gallery/daylily-hemerocallis-mkb6-1-unregistered-seedling/

I have no idea how it found that gallery via that URL, perhaps it’s part of the auto-generated sitemaps from SEO plugins, but I sure-enough was able to quickly whip up a URL that worked for A. D. Lewis:

    https://duluthdaylily.com/bwg_gallery/daylily-hemerocallis-a-d-lewis/

I realize that the auto generation of the “Gallery of Galleries” might be the reason why query strings, and not actual permalinks are used, but maybe there’s something as simple as a setting I’m overlooked?

    Help? Thoughts? Ideas?

Hello, dear @mpedersen , thanks a lot for reaching out,

?Every gallery/gallery group automatically generates custom post type: e.g.?https://duluthdaylily.com/bwg_gallery/daylily-hemerocallis-mkb6-1-unregistered-seedling/ that is getting indexed instead of the desired page,

To exclude such pages from being visible in search engines please navigate to Global Settings and enable this option:?Discourage Search Engine Visibility and then disable this option:?Enable dynamic URLs for galleries and gallery groups to have the links without query parameters,

Hope it helps, please keep me posted on your progress and let us know if you need any further assistance,

    Take care!

Nikita, I think you’re misunderstanding, I actually want those human-readable URLS. More importantly, I’m wondering if there’s a way for the overall gallery page to use THOSE urls, instead of the query string URLS, when navigating to the individual galleries.

Dear @mpedersen , we apologise for the wait,

Have you tried switching?Enable dynamic URLs for galleries and gallery groups?option to “off” to have the human-readable links without query parameters? What is the option setting right now in your “General Settings” tab?
