• Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you for the great support here in the community. As a novice, I have already been able to solve some questions just by reading along.

However, for some time now I have had a problem that I have not been able to solve. On my website there are portfolio galleries and a blog where the images are displayed in Masonry or Metro layout, the behaviour occurs in both variants. As soon as I am logged in, normally I use the Chrome browser, there are no problems in the layout. As soon as I don’t load the page as admin, no matter which browser I use, I only have the desired layout the first time I load the page, as soon as I reload the page or switch between pages and then come back, all the images are aligned in a fixed grid, always at the same height in each row. This does not change until I clear the browser and website cache. Other visitors have also confirmed this behaviour. Unfortunately, I can no longer tell when the problem started.

I have tried deactivating plugins, but so far I have not been able to find the error or prevent it from occurring. Not even if I deactivate WP Fastest Cache (which I suspected first) as a plugin or exclude pages there. Even on completely newly created subpages, this happens again and again. I’m slowly getting a bit desperate. Maybe someone here has an idea or at least an assumption that I can follow up on. Many thanks in advance. I’ll click on NSFW, as there is at least a bit more skin to be seen artistically on the website.

    I have tried deactivating plugins

To rule a theme conflict, have you also tried switching to the default theme (Twnentyone etc.)?

No, never tried that. Can I change back afterwards and everything is the same as before the change or do I have to adjust everything again? I have never done that before.

These are just one of the routine troubleshooting steps.

Please attempt to disable all plugins, AND use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    ____

If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, without affecting normal visitors to your site. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.
There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/

Ok, i have tried that now, but i can’t find a problem, perhaps it is ultimately due to the Bifr?st theme and some problem after an update. In my admin view everything always looks good, only for visitors it comes to the strange behaviour. If I create a Masonry gallery with another plugin, for example, this doesn’t seem to happen.

Should I reinstall the theme? Or how could I proceed in a sensible way?

    Should I reinstall the theme?

Try it if you feel comfortable doing it. If that does not work, contact the theme developer for assistance.

Since you use a commercial theme and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

Commercial products are not supported in these forums.
