    Hello,
Today I updated the plugin and it creates a problem for me as I was not able to update the plugins ( says critical error on the server or something like that)
And when I tried to deactivate the plugin it it creates a 500 server internal error ( misconfiguration error)

Please tell me how can I safely remove the plugin?

Hi, once he removes the plugin you can go into the htaccess and remove the code that is added you will recognize it from the comments that are customized by the name of the plugin.

This way it will not work anymore

thanks for the reply. I have another question. Why updating the plugin is causing this?

What’s the safe way to update the plugin and don’t get any issues ?

You could delete the plugin and re-install the version before doing that check that in the htaccess there is the classic BEGIN WordPress, if you see the name of the plugin remove all the code between BEGIN and END.

This should solve the problem is if possible you can tell us the error the log shows you so I can figure out where it is coming from (delete sensitive data from the log string)

Recognize the code in the htaccess by the name of the plugin

Okay I will do that, and get back to you faced any problem

Version 5.0.18 wasn’t showing BEGIN, only the END statement, if that helps you find the code.

I had similar, even with the newest 5.0.19, and if using the deactivate/activate route, check you website as all my permalinks needed updating. (Don’t just look at the home page, click on pages/posts etc, to ensure they show correctly.

    Hope this helps.

Hi @piglett49 and @saimulft, I have released version 5.0.20 to make the changes effective I recommend you uninstall and delete the previous version (-5.0.19) and install the new version + 5.0.20 so that the automatic changes of the next versions will be active.

This update implements several fixes of the issues that have been reported in this topic. Thank you for the feeedback and details received ??

Thank you for 5.0.20. The uninstall, install option appears to be more successful and working on my local instances.

I will try my hosted instances over the weekend.
